Electro-Mechanical Engineering
This division is responsible for the design and execution of all types of the
Engineering Services, required within the building (Commercial, Domestic and
Industrial) Industry.
The Electrical services cover LV power distribution, Small Lighting and Final
Power Circuits, Essential Systems (Security, Fire Alarm and Public
Announcement / Contact Systems).
The division, in conjunction with the Civil Engineering division, would also
involve in major Water and Sewerage Systems projects.
The scale of the rehabilitation which the country requires to bring it back to
its feet has driven ICCB management and its Engineering Division to realize
the potential that exists.
As being a specialized sector, ICCB has set-up a sub-division within the
Electro-Mechanical division, dedicated for the Electrification projects which
the country in desperate need. This is the Power Engineering Division.
Power Engineering Division
The division is established to look after projects involving the design,
execution and rehabilitation of Prime / Stand-By Generating Stations, Overhead
Line (Transmission and Distribution) Reticulation and Substations.
These projects are Medium Voltage (11kV and 33kV) and goes up to HT (132kV)
and Super-Grid 400kV.
There are three main areas, in which the projects are classified; Generation,
Transmission and Distribution.
Each area is divided into sub-areas, depending on the generic and specific
requirement that is required by each main area. Each of this sub-area is then
broken–down into the various disciplines as required by each main and sub area
in order to perform the required tasks. These required tasks could be
constructing new and/or rehabilitating power plants, transmission /
distribution lines and the necessary substation.
The division is supported by an Advisory body, consisting of suitably
qualified engineers and administrative personnel who have acquired valued
experience due to their work and the prominent positions taken-up by them
during their involvement within the industry.
The organization has been involved in 400 KV & 132 KV transmission lines. This has steered ICCB into investing heavily in further
strengthening this division. In addition to the Off-Site capability, ICCB’s
has on board;
1. Land / route surveyors
2. Stringing machinery and suitably qualified operators.
Since the establishment of the division, it has conducted surveys and studies
of the existing Generating Stations, Transmission Networks and Sub-Stations.
These are being compiled to form a value data-base to assist the organization
in establishing priority programmers and needs.
