This division is responsible for the design and execution of main civil and
construction projects.
The construction services vary from dealing with large-scale projects, such as
power stations and water projects to smaller projects such as rebuilding
schools and housing units.
The division is also interlinked with the other main sectors within ICCB. It
collaborates with the Power Division in undertaking power line rehabilitation
projects, such as the 400kV at Baghdad South to Baghdad East and the current
132kV Dibis to Kirkuk line.
The division also links up directly with the Water and Rail and Transport
divisions for the relevant infrastructure projects.
The division is established to look after projects involving the design,
execution and rehabilitation of Prime / Stand-By Generating Stations, Overhead
Line (Transmission and Distribution) Reticulation and Substations.
These projects are Medium Voltage (11kV and 33kV) and goes up to HT (132kV)
and Super-Grid 400kV.
The division has the design and construction capability for most types of
civil engineering projects. On the design and consulting side, ICCB has
surveyors, and civil and structural engineers.
ICCB also has the construction capabilities in respect of human expertise and
modern construction equipment. Furthermore, ICCB is investing in new
technology construction equipment to achieve the quality and tight programmes
required for te reconstruction effort.
The division has excellent links with international civil and structural
consultants and contractors. These avail their expertise with respect to
specialised design requirement and modern construction techniques.
